This was our first trip to Island Park this summer. My sister had a pass to let several people into the Grizzly Discovery Center so we went in and watched the bears for quite a while. It was pretty cool to see the bears so close up. They switched bears while we were there (they take shifts and only 2 are out at a time) and inbetween shifts some people came out and hid food around the area so we got to watch the bears come out and look for it. It was actually pretty cool.

Birkli really seemed to like it. She kept wanting to look though this telescope to see them, she didn't seem to mind that it didn't work (only cuz I didn't put money in it to make it work though), I'm not sure she even knows what it is supposed to do, but she sure had fun standing up next to it.

Cooper spent most of the time riding on my brothers back. Thankfully his son didn't feel like he needed it and just before we had left the cabin to go to see the bears he fell and skinned his knee. Well, if you know Cooper at all, it is the end of the world when you skin your knee and he couldn't possibly walk on it. I was very thankful that my brother was there and was willing to pack him around in it!

The babies didn't seem to care much about the bears. They like to go for rides in the stroller though so as long as we were moving they were happy. I did a lot of walking back and forth in the same area so they thought we were moving but we could all still watch the bears too.

Birkli and Cooper at Big Springs the first time this summer. We didn't see very many fish this time but just as we were leaving we saw a mommy duck and lots of baby ducks so we fed our bread to them. They were so cute, we sat and fed them and watched them for quite a while.

Hiking Trip

Jeremy took Birkli on a hike up to Iron Bog this spring. She was very excited to go, but once she got there she was a little scared. She had been watching a show with Jeremy on Animal Planet about bears attacking people and she loved the show, but she remembered the show when she was out in the woods where bears could actually be and was scared. Jeremy kept telling her not to worry that he wouldn't let a bear get her and that the bears were his friends. So now she thinks that they really are his friends and anytime we mention anything about any of his friends she thinks we are talking about the bears. Poor kid, scarred for life I think. There was a lot of snow up there still and so Jeremy had to actually pack her a lot of the way and it really wore him out, but they had a good time together. When she got home she kept talking about Alvin and I couldn't figure out what she was talking about. Well, she had watched Alvin and the Chipmunks not long before (do we watch too much tv? ;) ) and so when they saw chipmunks up there she put the two together I guess and called them Alvin. Funny girl. Don't mind her hairdo, you can tell that I wasn't there and didn't have a ton of advanced notice that she was going to do it decently before she left.

I love this picture....it's my favorite.

Yay! We made it! But the lake is frozen!

More still...

We went to Bear Lake with my family for a week and rented a cabin and all stayed together in it. It was a lot of fun. I actually took my camera, but I didn't get very many pictures at all. I am so mad at myself cuz we really had a good time too! These pictures were all taken with Jeremy's phone so the bottom 2 are pretty fuzzy, but I really wanted to remember how bad of a sunburn Birkli got. It was the weirdest sunburn I have ever seen! It was like she was a raccoon but opposite cuz she had red circles around her eyes instead of white, I'm still not really sure how that happened. I sprayed her back a couple of times and yet she still got burned, she wasn't too thrilled with it and I felt bad for her but there wasn't much I could do.

Eating a yummy raspberry shake! Can't go to Bear Lake with out getting one of those (or 2 or 3;) )!

Jeremy took Birkli fishing. He has taken her several times, but she has yet to catch a fish. I think she is starting to think that you don't actually catch fish when you go fishing, you just stick your pole in the water and sit there. :)

I now realize why everyone thought I had one boy and one girl with the twins! He does kind of look like a girl with that hair! I'm glad we finally cut it.

More Odds and Ends

Birkli started Kindergarten and she absolutely loves it. This picture was actually taken after she got home because we were were running late (of course) and didn't have time to take pictures before school. I do have some pictures of her at the school, but they are on my phone since I forgot to take the camera with me (of course) and I haven't gotten them off yet. I think her favorite parts of Kindergarten are riding riding the bus, eating breakfast at the school, and recess.:) She seems to be doing well though so I won't worry yet.

The boys FINALLY started eating solids good! I feel like we fed them solids for a really long time before they actually started to eat it. It just kept coming back out at us for the longest time!

I took the kids up to Island Park to my uncles cabin a couple of times this summer, I think this was the 2nd time. We love to go feed the fish at Big Springs when we go. I had to post a picture of me cuz I'm really not in pictures much since I am the one usually behind the camera.

Birkli and two of her cousins being goofy at Big Springs.

Jeremy took Cooper on a drive all by himself and I think he was thrilled to get all of his dads attention without having to compete with one of the other kids. It was a nice break for me because that kid can sure test my patience these days. ;)

Odds and Ends

I am horrible at blogging. Here are a few things that we have been up to in no particular order (there are too many things to try and make sure they are in order).

We attempted to take the babies pictures for their 7 month milestone (yeah, so we were a month late getting the 6th month milestone...big deal...;)). I thought this one was kind of funny because it looks like Weston pushed Miles over, but really Miles just isn't too good at sitting on his own yet, so that is just his way of sitting.

Jeremy went up in the Copper Basin area to hunt for a long weekend all by himself. We missed him terribly, but he had a fun time and got some nice alone time which I think he enjoyed.

The babies are getting more and more fun. They are starting to be more aware of each other and others around them and always have us laughing at them.

Jeremy's friend entered the demolition derby for Shelley Spud Days with another friends car. Jeremy got to go be in the pit crew and loved it. I'm sure he would like it more if he was actually the one driving the car though.

We took the kids to the fair and this is one of the rides that they went on. It was taken with Jeremy's phone so it isn't the best picture, but for some reason we can't ever seem to remember our camera when we go places.

It was just time....

Weston has such a cute little face, but the hair was starting to get a little out of control so we decided it was time for a hair cut. He didn't seem to mind it at first when he was in the high chair, but then when we took him out to get to the back of his head he sure didn't like it one bit! It was a team effort and it wasn't fun with a screaming baby, but we got the job done. I'm sure it would not pass the inspection of a professional, but it looked better in our eyes anyway.
Before:

After:

And what was Miles doing while his brother was being tortured -er I mean getting his hair cut?

Being photographed over and over by his favorite sister of course. I seriously have about 20 pictures of pretty much this exact picture. She gets a little camera happy. ;)

Cooper was next for a hair cut, and as you can see he didn't like it any more than Weston did! Haha!

Well, that was 2 months ago and now it is time for another haircut for Weston. I have been putting it off cuz it is so not fun, but it really needs done. Although, pulling up those pictures to put on here and seeing how long it really was makes me think we should be able to go for quite a while still cuz he hair isn't even half that long right now! If I could let it get that long once, why not again huh? ;)

My girl

Birkli is such a good helper to me with the babies. She is usually willing to help console one of them if he is crying and I am busy with the other one, she gets me wipes, diapers, binkis, burp cloths, etc. I am glad that she is so willing to help most of the time because it really is a lifesaver to me. She isn't always willing to help, especially if she is watching a tv show that she is really into or something, but for the most part she is pretty good.

Both of these pictures are of her helping Miles, she seems to help him the most, she always tells me that he likes her. She does help with Weston too, I just don't seem to have any pictures of her with him that I could find right off, plus he is a little crankier when he is cranky and she isn't able to soothe him as well so she doesn't do it as often. She really is a good big sister though and I'm glad that she seems to love all of her little brothers so much and I hope she continues to be a big helper to me and to them.

Blessings

We blessed our babies on Mother's Day and it was such a neat experience. I've never been to a blessing for twins before so that was kind of fun. Every single person in my family was there except for one brother-in-law so that was kind of neat to have them all there. Jeremy's mom came and two of his brothers and their families were there as well. We were thankful for a mostly nice day so that we could eat our lunch outside afterward since there just isn't enough room in my house for that many people. It was bittersweet though, to know that I won't be having any more sweet babies to have blessed. I just have to savor every little tiny moment with these two cuz I won't be having any more of these "firsts" moments.

Sorry for the poor quality photos. Another reason I hadn't posted about this yet is cuz my brother had taken some pictures with his fancy shmancy camera and I was going to wait until I saw those to post and use them instead, but since he is now the bishop in his ward, I'm thinking it will be a while before I see those pictures so this is what you get. ;)

Better pictures

Here are some better pictures of Coopers spots that he had. He looked pretty miserable for about a week. I am so glad they are all gone, I was kind of afraid that they might never go away and that he would look like that forever!

Poor Coopie

Cooper has been sick for quite a while now. For a long time it was just kind of a cough, no fever or runny nose or anything. But then it developed into a runny nose, a fever, and the cough. So we finally decided to take him in to the doc last Friday. According to the doc he had an ear infection in each ear and allergies. So we put him on some Amoxicillin and Zyrtec. Yesterday he woke up looking like this:

We thought maybe he had chicken pox or something, but after consulting with our doctor we have decided he must be allergic to penicillin. I guess he takes after his Momma. The poor thing though! I just feel so bad for him. He actually broke out even more since then. This is what his face looked last night when he was going to bed:

I need to take a picture of him in just his diaper cuz it is so bad all over him now! Poor kid! The doctor said it could take a week to clear up! Good thing we don't go anywhere lately!

Little Stinker

So the other night, Cooper feel asleep at dinner and since he has been kind of sick I decided to just let him sleep and I put him in his bed (this was at like 6:30). Then I put Birkli to bed at about 9 and at around 9:30 or 10 I went out to the kitchen to get medicine for Miles and saw that their bedroom door was open so I went in to see what was up. Well, at first I was a little concerned because Cooper wasn't in his bed so I quickly scanned the bedroom for him and wondered if he was in my bedroom and I hadn't seen him since I had already turned all the rest of the lights in the house off. Then I noticed that he was laying in bed next to Birkli all cuddled up and sound asleep. I thought it was so cute that they were snuggled together! I wish I could have taken a picture but it was dark and I knew it wouldn't have turned out. I am so glad that they love each other so much! For the most part Birkli is a pretty good big sister to him.

Yesterday Cooper totally grossed me out!! (for those of you that are sqeamish, you may want to stop reading here, but for some strange reason I want to remember this so I am recording it here) He was out in the rec room playing an x-box game and I was at the computer in my room trying to keep Miles content. Well, he came in and I could instantly tell that he was stinky so I stood up and told him to come with me to change his diaper. He didn't follow me so I went back to grab his hand and saw him grabbing funny at his pant leg and then all of the sudden a 'little nugget' came out of his pant leg. Right then I realized this was gonna be a messy one so I picked him up and carried him to the tub to clean him up. I am SO glad that I did that or I would have had poop all over my carpet! Apparently pull-ups don't hold a lot of poop! It was so thick, stuck all the way down his leg, it was impossible to get his pants and socks off without getting it on my fingers too! It only took about 20+ wet wipes to get him clean enough that I would let him take a bath and not have poopy water. Then when I went to clean out his pants (I did this in the tub too) I had the water running through the pant legs and logs came out! Seriously! I was so grossed out and very thankful I wasn't pregnant or I would have been in trouble! I spent about 45 minutes cleaning up him and his pants and the spots on the carpet between the rec room and bedroom! Of course the whole time I was doing that both babies were screaming at me! It was such a fun time for me! Oh that boy! If I didn't love him to death we would have a problem! ;)

Weston

For being the bigger baby all through the pregnancy, he sure did give up fast and decided to be the smaller one. He is still taller, but weighs less now. I love all of his dark hair and I love how it is so wild and crazy after his bath. He is a pretty happy boy and has even started giving us cute little smiles. He actually sleeps through the night which make his momma very happy! He has awesome blue eyes too and I hope they stay that way. He definitely likes to be held and as long as I am not busy or dealing with his little (younger) brother then I am totally ok with that. He is fed formula at night before he goes down for the night and Jeremy usually feeds it to him and I guess he has gotten used to that because I fed him a bottle the other night and he didn't want to go to sleep for me afterwords, but he always goes right to sleep when done eating if Jeremy feeds him. I guess that means Jeremy can't ever be gone at bedtime! :) He is such a cute and fun baby and I am the luckiest mom in the world to have these two babies belong to me! I was very scared when I found out I was having twins but I am so glad that I did! I can't imagine not having either one of them!

Miles

I guess Miles didn't like being the small baby cuz he has already doubled his weight and passed his brother in weight! He was about a pound and a half smaller at birth, but now he is about a full pound bigger! He is a chunk! I guess maybe he isn't really a chunk because he is only in the 7th percentile for his weight (my other 2 were always in the 80th or 90th percentiles!) but he just looks chunky compared to his brother. I think it is cute though. He still wakes up in the night to eat (maybe that is why he is chunky?) but usually only once so it isn't too bad for me to get up with him. He actually has reflux so the doctor put him on medicine to help with that and since then he has been so much happier which makes me happier! I absolutely love his blue eyes and I hope they stay that way. He is just the cutest baby and I'm so happy he is mine.

Time flies....

I can't believe my babies are already 2 months old! They really are lots of fun even though they have completely changed my life by making it hard for me to go anywhere....ever! We haven't taken them anywhere yet except for to the doctor for their appointments. Once we start taking them places I think it will get harder! We will probably take them to the family Easter dinner tomorrow and once people start getting better (hopefully that is soon) we will start taking them to church (although I must admit it has been kinda nice being able to sleep in and be lazy on Sundays ;)).

Finally...

Ok so I know there aren't many people that read this, but I have had some requests to post a picture of me when I was prego with the twins so here it is.

It's hard for me to believe that from that belly I got these two handsome boys.
Everything went well, we were very blessed to have everything go so smoothly. The way the doctor and nurse kept talking, I was expecting it to be rough but it was great. The nurse told me that was the smoothest twin delivery she has ever seen, that made me feel good. Anyways, it is all over now and I don't have to worry about going through that again! We are so happy to have our babies here (I am especially glad to have them out of my belly :) ) and they have already got me wrapped around their little fingers.
